Recently, nickel manufacturers Australia Independence Mining (IGO) released the production report in the third quarter of fiscal year in fiscal 2023. Nickel ore output was 8358 tons, a year -on -year decrease of 13.20%(2022Q1: 9629), an increase of 16.42%month -on -month

 

Among them, the NOVA nickel project produced 5547 tons of nickel ore this quarter, an increase of 31%month -on -month, and nickel sales were 4441 tons, an increase of 15%from the previous month. The increase in nickel production is mainly due to the recovery of the NOVA nickel project after the fire interrupted in the previous quarter.

 

The Forrestania nickel project was 2811 tons of nickel production this quarter, a decrease of 5%, and nickel sales of 1484 tons, a decrease of 29%month -on -month. Due to the decrease in raw materials and ore inventory, the nickel production of Forrestania decreased compared to the previous quarter.

 

In addition, this quarter, IGO sold mixed Nova and Forrestania products to BHP based on short -term contracts, achieving higher value. According to the extension of existing rights, IGO is finalizing a contracting agreement on mixed Nova and Forrestania products. The business terms have been agreed until the end of 23 years.

 

After the end of this quarter, IGO announced the land in Kwinana-Rockingham Strategic Industrial Zone. IGO and its project partners Wyloo Metals are currently working hard to make the final investment decision (FID) to develop IBM facilities. The facility will use nickel sulfide concentrate as the raw material. (PCAM). IGO and Wyloo Metals are advancing discussions with a global battery chemical manufacturer, and the manufacturer has expressed strong interest in the project cooperation.
